the reason we chose this model was for the powerful ventilation system..according to the samsung website 4speed/400cfm features powerful ventilation system that quickly and quietly illuminates steam fumes and odors, the nearly silent system clears the air with 400 ft.³ per minute of turbo ventilation.the ventilation system is not powerful or nearly silent. it is very loud and does not eliminate any of the steam…instead steam travels up on my cabinet above the microwave ruining the finish on the cabinet. while it was under warranty, they sent a service technician but he said as long as it can hold a tissue up to vent that it was working, it didn't matter that it wasn't exhausting the steam like the website stated. now it's not under warranty and the fan only runs on 2 speeds.

i bought this microware in december 2020, it stopped heating after a month, i had to wait a week for samsung to fix it, a year later, the same problem. to the garbage. no warranty . i bought a samsung range, it worked fine for two months, the display went crazy and i had to wait a week for it to be repaired. i no longer recommend samsung. time to buy another brand.

if you anticipate using your new microwave for longer than a year or two, you may want to pass on this one. purchased less than 2 years ago and used in a part-time home, this has stopped heating entirely. as it is out of manufacturer warranty, service on it will cost more than the unit is worth. will be replacing with a non-samsung unit. very disappointed!

for the money you'd think this would be a good product. it isn't! after a few months it stopped heating so i made a warranty call and someone came and replaced the heating mechanism. right after the warranty expired the same thing happened again. i'm not spending another dime to fix this. i'll buy a different brand, which is unfortunate because i replaced every appliance with samsung. do not buy this microwave!

3.5 years ago we remodeled our kitchen and replaced 4 appliances with samsung, including this microwave. my niece warned us not to buy samsung as she had bad experience. however, we did not listen to her and went ahead with the purchase. since there were so many bad reviews, we purchased 3 yrs extended warranties. the extended warranty expired on 10/20 and on 4/21, the microwave stopped working. it sounded like busted magnetron. samsung told us that magnetron warranty is for 10 years but we have to pay for the labor. which i am sure will be atleast $150. they will not just ship the magnetron so we could replace it ourselves. totally disappointed with the microwave and the service.

we bought the entire suite of appliances for our newly remodeled kitchen and we have had one problem after the next with the microwave and refrigerator. about 8 months in, the g from the samsung name fell off. a couple weeks ago, the microwave suddenly just stopped heating. it still counts down like a very expensive kitchen timer, but it no longer makes the microwave sound and doesn't heat food nor beverages. i've had microwaves for 10+ years and never had one die. this one is done before it turned 3 years old. i've telephoned about this several times in conjunction with the two service calls for our samsung fridge, and hundreds of dollars in repairs later - i'm losing faith in the products.

i have always trusted samsung products so when i was looking for a microwave, i didn't think twice and went with this product. i am really disappointed, , i purchased this microwave thinking i was going to have a long term product and i am shocked that it only lasted about 2 years. i don't know what samsung is doing lately but it seems that all their appliances only last about 2 years before they start to break down or stop working. so if you are looking for a good microwave this is not for you and not worth buying.

we have had this microwave not even 3 years and the light underneath went out in a few montgs time, the fan does not get smokecand steam out very well and now when we use it to heat up things it stops after a few seconds and the clock wont keep time. definitely will not buy anymore samsung kitchen appliances. samsung kitchen appliances are the absolute worse.

purchased from lowes in july 2017. like other reviews it completely quit. no lights or anything. outlet checks out as working. manual says to unplug for 10 seconds and replug. did that several times. still nothing. bought this to match tge stainless steel of our samsung stove. previous kenmore lasted for years. buying a different brand. more expensive to fix than replace.

microwave quit cooking within a year. i tried to use the samsung warranty for repair of the microwave. they told me 1st to upload a copy of my receipt, which i did, then told me it wasn't good enough, so i had to do another upload. told me it was a common issue, and that they were waiting on parts, and it'd be 1-1.5 weeks until they could get the parts. i followed up with them 3 weeks later, was told they were still waiting on parts. followed up again 2 weeks after that and was told that i had to contact samsung and they no longer had my ticket (they had closed it apparently without repairing it). currently sitting on hold with samsung again, as they are struggling to create a ticket. i'm never going to buy another samsung appliance based on how this has gone.

our previous microwave came with the house which was built in 2000 we moved in in 2011 it lasted another 7 yrs. this microwave we got in oct 2018 it stopped heating food in nov 2020 part way through a bag of cauliflower. though the megatron may be under warrenty the service calls and labor are not which means i either foot the bill or i just buy a new one. i am disappointed in this lemon of a microwave.

this has great features, but it lasted 11 months and the magnetron died. i paid to have professionally installed, which was nice. however, it does not heat any longer and it took over 10 hours (so far) to get the warranty honored. it looks like i will have to ship it in to be fixed, not sure if i am paying for shipping myself. also, looks like i will have to uninstall myself. ugh. look for something else.

this was a great microwave while it worked. unfortunately, one day it started making a whirring sound when the unit wasn't actually microwaving anything. when we tried to microwave, it sounded normal but it wouldn't heat anything up. because it was outside of the 1 year warranty, we would have had to pay someone to come out and fix it. that would have costed as much as a new one. i bit the bullet and got a new samsung because i really liked this model and i like look with our other samsung appliances. if the new microwave dies after a couple of years, i won't buy another samsung.

Two Stars for Two Years of Life

bought new in the fall of 2018 to replace a 13yr old ge microwave. looks good and worked well for almost 2yrs. began flickering on and off until it would no longer power on. checked connections and found a loose connector on one of the thermostats. spent $20 and waited 1.5 weeks for a new thermostat, unfortunately the new thermostat did not help. all fuses and connections are good and it's getting power, not sure why it won't power on anymore. think it's time to cut my loses and find replacement. judging from some of the other reviews this does not appear to be a reliable model. very disappointing when a much longer life is expected from a brand like samsung.

very unhappy with samsung at this time. i will not buy another product as it sits right now from samsung. and i recommend you stay away at least from the microwaves. customer support is a joke, confusing, hard to find warranty application claim, and still zero response from samsung after weeks of attempts for help. very unhappy with samsung at this time. door won't latch after about 10 months of use at home. now to use we have to stand there and hold the door shut. what a pain! had a 20-year-old amana, but i replaced with a samsung that did not even last 1 year! 20 year old amana was definitely higher quality.

i was wiping off the microwave the second week we had it and the g from the samsung logo wiped off! that was a little concerning. then the serial wiped off (i assume from the grease?). this is a microwave designed to go over the stove, so it's going to get dirty. finally, the door latch broke-rendering the microwave completely useless. the icing on the cake was when samsung told us they can't help us because the serial number is not legible. we have the receipt, not good enough.

i purchased this at sears in sept when it was on sale before my kitchen remodeling and i also had a discount coupon for a total savings of $110. the project was delayed and not completed until dec when it was put into use. worked great until july and now no longer heats up. samsung does not have anyone that will come out to fix it and they will not send out a replacement, only will refund the original purchase price that is $100 less then being able to purchase a comparable one not including the work involved of removing and re-installing it. seems like i am not the only one who has had problems with this model and i have lost all faith with samsung. hope the samsung stove i also purchase at the same time will last longer.
