Brought this player to match up with my Samsung LCD in the bedroom, Woks flawlessly. The picture quality from dvd to blu-ray is amazingly different, Menu is pretty easy to navigate, only thing not good is internet connection lag, not the players fault. Excellent player, highly recommend.

I was in the market to upgrade my Samsung DVD player to a Blu-ray and decided to take it one step further and go for 3D and network capabilities. The player had no problem finding my network and connecting. The setup and firmware upgrades were accomplished without any issues. Loading and playback of DVD's was fast. Then I tried streaming videos and where I ran into issues, thus the reason for not rating this player higher. If you did your research and eventually bought this blu-ray, then having the capabilities of a built-in network card and streaming video were important factors in your decision. Then like me, you too would also expect them to work and perform without any issues.
After reading reviews on other sites, I see I'm not the only one losing my mind trying to figure out what is wrong with the built in network card. Using the player's network speed test option, I could only (once in a while) get reported network speeds of 2-3 Mbps, while my laptop detected the same wireless network with speeds of 20-25Mbps. Most of the time the player registered only 200-350kbps! It didn't matter if I set the system up as wireless or wired, the results were unfortunately the same. It would seem logical that the player would report the same speeds seen by my wireless laptop or my desktop wired direct to my router. (I'm using a Linksys WRT160N v-3 router with the latest firmware). I contacted Samsung and was finally put in contact with Level 2 Tech support about the unit's slow detected network speeds. Samsung reps also felt the player should be seeing the same network speeds and thought the player's network card was defective. I returned the first unit and received the replacement and ran the same type tests on the second player. It didn't take long to realize it too had the same problem. Netflix recommends speeds of at least 5Mbps to allow uninterrupted viewing of instant movies. At the speeds the player is working online, it is virtually impossible to watch a movie due to the constant stopping to buffer a movie. There have been two Internet and two firmware updates since I received the new player two weeks ago. Neither has improved the situation for online use. Oh and by the way, due to the extremely slow network response of this player, VUDU didn't work any better, so it is not just a Netflix issue. Samsung needs to find a fix fast either through firmware or network card upgrades. Other than this irritant, the player is easy to setup and works wonderfully with my newly acquired receiver. I hope someone at Samsung actually reads these reviews and realizes an issue is brewing and needs attention.

I bought this unit to provide all my video services (blu-ray, dvd, netflix, dlna). However the netflix streaming loses audio sync badly (sound coming up to 5 seconds after after). DLNA streaming doesn't work reliably either. Many of the Internet@TV apps crash.
I won't be considering Samsung for my upcoming TV upgrade if these problems aren't fixed real soon with firmware updates.
